Sarah Delaney
OWNER & STYLE DIRECTOR
Sarah has owned The Avenue Hair Studio since October 2012 and has been in the hairdressing industry for over 20 years. She was truly born to be a hairdresser starting part-time in a salon while still at school and never looking back. Her OE took her to the high seas, working on luxury cruise ships as a senior hairdresser and assistant spa manager, before returning to New Zealand to work with L’Oréal, supporting salon owners and stylists across the country. These days, Sarah spends more time working behind the scenes, focusing on growing the business, mentoring her team, and helping her salon thrive, but her heart still lights up when she’s behind the chair, working closely with clients and sharing in those “wow moments.” Sarah is passionate about giving back to the industry and is proud to lead a salon that actively trains and supports apprentices. She believes in creating a positive, empowering environment where young stylists can grow into confident professionals. A recent winner at the Kitomba Business Awards, Sarah was honoured to be named Top Performing Stylist of the Year - a reflection of her dedication, consistency, and love for the craft. “Hairdressing is such a rewarding career. Stacey began her hairdressing career in 2010 and became part of The Avenue family in April 2021. With her warm, easy-going nature and natural leadership skills, it’s no surprise she was recently promoted to Salon Manager. Stacey’s calming presence and genuine care make both clients and team members feel right at home from the moment they walk through the door. Behind the chair, Stacey is known for her beautiful, lived-in colours, soft balayage and breathtaking blondes. Her eye for detail and dedication to her craft means every client leaves feeling confident, refreshed, and well taken care of. She believes that the magic of a great hair appointment isn’t just in the salon feel, but in helping clients recreate that feeling at home. Whether it’s a dramatic blonde makeover, a rich copper refresh, or seamlessly blended extensions, she’s all about helping clients achieve the hair of their dreams. She also loves styling beautiful hair-ups, voluminous bouncy blow waves, and staying ahead of the curve with the latest techniques and trends. As a Kérastase Care Coach and dry styling guru (seriously, her curls and tong work are next level), Mica is known for turning hair goals into reality while educating clients along the way. As a skilled extension specialist, Charlotte helps clients achieve full, seamless, natural-looking hair with a focus on healthy results and longevity. Her passion for continued education and evolving techniques keeps her work consistently modern and on-trend. Charlotte is all about empowering her clients, not just through beautiful hair, but by sharing the knowledge and routines that help them maintain their look at home. Mary joined The Avenue as our New Talent and has quickly become an essential part of the team. While no longer the newest, she continues to grow from strength to strength showing real flair and dedication in everything she does. Passionate about colour, she’s especially drawn to foilage work and is now turning her focus toward building her skills in cutting. Known for her warm, friendly energy, Mary delivers one of the best basin experiences in town, her relaxing hair washes and massages are a client favourite. With confidence and skill, she now delivers global colours, toners, and regrowth applications, along with beautifully executed blow waves and styling work. A fast learner with an incredible work ethic, Mary is always on the go supporting her team and soaking up every opportunity to develop her craft.
