Talented Team!

Sarah Rasmussen

Owner and Style Director

Sarah has owned The Avenue Hair Studio since October 2012 and says she was born to be a hairdresser. She started working part time in a salon while still at school and has been hairdressing ever since. Sarah’s OE was spent on luxury cruise ships, working as a senior hairdresser and assistant spa manager. She went on to join L’Oreal New Zealand, working alongside salon owners, managers and hairdressers. After 20 years in the hairdressing industry Sarah still loves her career and the people. As hairdressers, we are so lucky to be able to compliment people through their hair. Sarah loves the ‘wow moment’ when she’s created the look her client wanted and can easily look after themselves at home.

Recent winner of the Kitomba Business awards and taking home ‘Top performing Stylist of the Year’ check out what Sarah had to say about receiving this award.

Sian began her career as a hairdresser at the age of 13 and is a qualified senior stylist. Sian joined The Avenue team just shortly after the doors opened in 2012 and enjoyed working part time whilst she finished school. Sian has perfected her luxury treatments and scalp massages, often described as the best scalp massage ever! Sian loves the creativity that hairdressing offers & has become a pro at creating a perfect ombre/balayage. She loves helping people feel great about themselves through their hair.

Sian is a Kerastase Mastor Ambassador and recommends everyone treats themselves to a Fusio Dose treatment with their appointment. To create the perfect blow wave Sian loves to use her Dyson hairdryer, it gives her the ability to create so much volume but a smooth finish.

New Talent Stylist

Shania joined the Avenue team as a colour assistant in September 2020 and has been a wonderful addition to our team. Not only does she specialise in colour work but she's our little fire cracker, she naturally lifts any mood and our clients love her (as much as we do!) Shania says that she loves keeping up with hair fashion and creating hair that makes our clients feel good about themselves. Her favourite service is balayage and hair fashion colours. She is a highly skilled colour assistant and her work reflects this. Take a look at our gallery or Instagram to see her work!

Shania recommends Matrix Brass Off for hair that needs extra nourishment as it's a powerful heat protectant whilst softening and smoothing the hair cuticle.

Style Apprenticeship

Emma is The Avenue's first year apprentice. Within the last year, Emma has worked her way up from being a part time staff member to a full time apprentice. She has really impressed herself and the team with her colour work, blowaves and her enthusiasm for learning. Emma keeps going from strength to strength and you will usually find her jumping on to help the seniors. Emma's favourite products are the Kerastase Blond Absolu range; she has learnt a lot about their benefits for bleached hair and after using them on her own hair, see's the benefits!

Emma is really keen to gain as much experience as possible and has created a few discounted colour packages to do so. So if you're looking for an express colour service, book one of our packages and fall in love with your hair again!
