Sarah Rasmussen
Owner and Style Director
Owner & Senior Stylist Sarah has owned The Avenue Hair Studio since October 2012 and has been in the hairdressing industry for over 20 years. She was truly born to be a hairdresser—starting part-time in a salon while still at school and never looking back. Her OE took her to the high seas, working on luxury cruise ships as a senior hairdresser and assistant spa manager, before returning to New Zealand to work with L’Oréal, supporting salon owners and stylists across the country. These days, Sarah spends more time working behind the scenes, focusing on growing the business, mentoring her team, and helping her salon thrive—but her heart still lights up when she’s behind the chair, working closely with clients and sharing in those “wow moments.” Sarah is passionate about giving back to the industry and is proud to lead a salon that actively trains and supports apprentices. She believes in creating a positive, empowering environment where young stylists can grow into confident professionals. Style Director & Salon Manager
Salon Manager & Senior Stylist Stacey began her hairdressing career in 2010 and became part of The Avenue family in April 2021. With her warm, easy-going nature and natural leadership skills, it’s no surprise she was recently promoted to Salon Manager. Stacey’s calming presence and genuine care make both clients and team members feel right at home from the moment they walk through the door. Behind the chair, Stacey is known for her beautiful, lived-in colours, soft balayage and breathtaking blondes. Her eye for detail and dedication to her craft means every client leaves feeling confident, refreshed, and well taken care of. She believes that the magic of a great hair appointment isn’t just in the salon feel—but in helping clients recreate that feeling at home. Sally is a true artist when it comes to colour transformations and hair extensions—her two biggest passions. Whether it’s a dramatic blonde makeover, a rich copper refresh, or seamlessly blended extensions, she’s all about helping clients achieve the hair of their dreams. She also loves styling beautiful hair-ups, voluminous bouncy blow waves, and staying ahead of the curve with the latest techniques and trends. Alison brings warmth, professionalism, and a genuine love for people into every appointment. Alison has a special interest in colour work, and is quickly building a reputation for creating personalised, flattering colour that suits each client’s skin tone, lifestyle, and vibe. Whether you’re after a soft refresh or a full transformation, Alison takes the time to understand your vision and recommend a look that works for you. She’s also dedicated to educating her clients, making sure they leave with the knowledge and confidence to care for their hair at home. Mica has been in the hair industry since 2011, and in that time, has perfected her skills to become a master of color transformations. Whether it's creating stunning blonde shades or perfecting balayages, Mica thrives on making hair dreams come true. From lived in to platinum blondes.
Dry styling is her specialty—"I can work wonders with tongs and straighteners, and I'm about to dive headfirst into the world of extensions with boundless enthusiasm.
Training others is a true passion of mine (just ask Rosie!), and I get immense satisfaction from sharing my knowledge and skills."

Emerging Stylist & Colour Expert Emma joined The Avenue team back in 2020 as a part-time shampoo assistant and has worked her way up through hard work, passion, and pure talent. Now in the final stages of becoming a fully qualified stylist, Emma is already making a name for herself—particularly when it comes to colour. After completing her Masters in Colour with Keune in 2024, Emma has quickly become known for her ability to choose just the right tone to complement each client’s features and style. Whether it’s blondes, bold transformations, or creative colour work, Emma brings a modern edge and technical precision to everything she does. She also loves textured short styles, sharp blunt bobs, and anything that helps her clients express their personality through their hair. Emma’s fun, upbeat energy makes every appointment feel like a treat—and she’s always up for a great chat while delivering beautiful results. “I love helping people feel confident and refreshed—great colour can completely change your vibe!”

Emerging Style Director | Master Colourist & Extension Specialist, Charlotte joined The Avenue in July 2021. Certified as a Master Colourist in 2024, she’s known for her deep passion for all things blonde, from soft dimensional balayage to bright, bold transformations. She’s also a skilled extension specialist, helping clients achieve full, luscious locks that blend seamlessly. With her natural flair for education and commitment to growth, Charlotte is constantly upskilling and staying ahead of the latest trends and techniques. In March 2025, she’ll be heading to Amsterdam to further her training alongside top hairdressers from around the world—an exciting step on her journey to becoming a Style Director. Charlotte is all about empowering her clients—not only with great hair, but with the knowledge and tools to care for it at home. She loves to recommend the perfect products and routines so her clients can keep that fresh-salon feeling long after they leave. Having completed her 3-year hairdressing apprenticeship, she’s now in the final stages of becoming a fully qualified hairdresser. Rosie is currently welcoming new clients who want a beautiful, five-star salon experience without the top-tier price tag. Apprentice Stylist Mary is the newest member of The Avenue team and has hit the ground running! Brand new to the industry, she’s already showing incredible promise and a true passion for her craft. You’ll often find her at the basin delivering one of the best hair washes and massages in town, or welcoming clients into the salon with her warm smile and friendly energy. Mary is quickly building her skills in styling—perfecting blow waves and finishing techniques daily. She’s also confidently working on global colours, toners, and regrowth applications, and continues to grow stronger with each passing week. A fast learner with an incredible work ethic, Mary is constantly buzzing around the salon, supporting her team and soaking up every opportunity to learn.
