Not sure which extension method is right for you? Here's a quick overview of the three methods we offer at The Avenue, so you can get a feel for what might suit your hair type, lifestyle, and goals before your in-salon consultation.

Weft Extensions

Wefts of hair are sewn onto fine, hidden tracks that are braided close to the scalp. Best suited to medium to thick hair, this method holds more volume and length in fewer applications, and doesn't involve any heat, glue or bonds against the scalp. Wefts are removable and reusable, and are typically moved up every 6–8 weeks as your natural hair grows.

Keratin Bond Extensions

Each extension is tipped with a small keratin protein bond, which is fused to the natural hair strand by strand. This method suits all hair types, but is always the top choice for fine to medium hair as the bonds are so discreet and gentle. Keratin bonds are the longest-lasting method, giving you longer, thicker hair for up to 6 months without the expense of 6-weekly move-ups. As a permanent extension, bonds can't be reused once removed.

Tape-in Extensions

Wefts of hair are pre-attached to thin strips of medical-grade adhesive tape, which are sandwiched around small sections of your natural hair. Tape-ins are fast to apply and give an instant, seamless result, making them a great option if you're after length and volume without a lengthy application time. They sit flat against the head, so they're comfortable to wear and style, and are typically moved up every 4–6 weeks as your natural hair grows. Tape-ins are removable and can be reused, making them a lower-cost option over time.
